BRT Apartments Corp. Acquires 281-Unit Value Add Property in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas

GREAT NECK, N.Y., May 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — BRT Apartments Corp. (NYSE:BRT) announced that an entity in which it has a 50% equity interest acquired Landings of Carrier Parkway, a 281-unit multi-family property located in Grand Prairie, Texas, midway between Dallas and Ft. Worth, for $30.8 million, including $19.0 million of mortgage debt obtained in connection with the acquisition. The mortgage debt matures in 2028, carries an interest rate of 4.37% and is interest only until 2023. BRT contributed $7.3 million of equity in connection with the acquisition and anticipated improvements to the property.

Southern Land Co. to develop Nove at Knox – Dallas Business Journal

Nashville-based developer Southern Land Co. has broken ground on Novē at Knox, a 310-unit apartment property in Dallas’ Knox-Henderson neighborhood.

To be located at 3031 Oliver Ave., the complex will span 19 stories and include 41 junior suites, 159 one-bedroom apartments and 90 two-bedroom apartments. Another 16 penthouses, some of which will have private terraces, are planned for the buildings 18th and 19th floors.

The property’s amenities will include a concierge and 10,000 square feet of private open space connected to McKinney Avenue, featuring a dog park and outdoor seating area with grills and fireplace. A fifth-floor amenity area will also offer a resort-style pool and private cabanas with TVs, a fitness center, flex room and residents lounge.

Black Creek’s Mace McClatchy talks industrial real estate buy in Houston area – Houston Business Journal

Black Creek Group, a Denver-based real estate investment firm, recently acquired a 351,960-square-foot industrial park in Stafford in Fort Bend County.

It’s far from the last deal Black Creek will make in Houston in 2018.

"I’d do a deal in Houston every day if I could," said Mace McClatchy, senior vice president of the south central U.S. for Black Creek Group’s Dallas office, when asked if the firm was pursuing other opportunities in Houston. "Black Creek is a big fan of Houston. … We have several interesting prospects down there right now."
